Talent Hunt-2022 held at M. M. Modi College, Patiala

Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala organized ‘Talent Hunt – 2022’ today to provide a platform for students to explore their creative and artistic skills. This programme was inaugurated by chief guest Dr. Gagandeep Thapa, Incharge, Youth Welfare Department, Punjabi University, Patiala. The guest of honour the talent hunt was Dr. S.S. Virk, Ex Head, Post-graduate Department of Punjabi, Guru Nanak College, Doraha. The programme was inaugurated with a lamp lighting ceremony, Saraswati Vandana and Shabad Gayan by the students.
College Principal, Dr. Khushvinder Kumar welcomed the chief guest, guest of honour and participants. He said that these programmes are designed to develop the creative potential and artistic skills of our students. He told that college is committed to develop its students not only as future leaders but also as creative human beings.
Dr. Gurdeep Singh, Head Punjabi department, introduced the chief guest, guest of honour and various themes for different competitions.
Chief Guest Dr. Gagandeep Thapa congratulated the winners of various competitions and said that Modi College has maintained a balance between academic excellence and creative virtuosity. He motivated the students to work hard and excel in their careers.
More than 450 students participated in the talent hunt competition. Competitions in Elocution, Folk Song, Ghazal, Poetry Recitation, Quiz, Fine Arts, and Photography were held. Competitions were also held in Western Song (Solo) and Fine Arts. Gidha, Rawaiti Lok Geet and Skit were special attraction of the programme.
First position in Collage making was bagged by Nishu Rani. Mehak Bansal stood first in Mehndi Design, Pardeep Kaur in Embroidery, Gautmi Bhatt in Cartoon Making, Simran Kaur in On the Spot Painting, Divya Mutreja in Poster Making, Yash Sharma in Photography, Mehak in Rangoli and Gurmukh in Clay modeling. An exclusive competition of Installation display was also held in which team of Divya, Pankhudi Gupta, Krishma and Harleen Kaur won the first position. The judges for these events were Prof. Neena Sareen, Prof. Veenu, Dr. Sukhdev Singh, Dr. Rohit Sechdeva, Dr. Nidhi Gupta, Dr. Deepika , Dr. Gagandeep kaur and Dr. Chetna Sharma.
In General Knowledge Quiz competition Sayam got the first position and Mankirat Singh stood second. First position was bagged by Sandeep Kaur in Cultural quiz Competition and on second position was Jaspreet Kaur.The judges for quiz were Dr. Ganesh Sethi, Dr Deepika and Dr. Harmohan Sharma and Dr. Deepak Dhalewa.
In elocution first position was bagged by Naunidh Marya and second by Amreet Kaur.
In poetry Recitation first position was won by Gunawari and second position won by Ehman.
While Shubhangi stood first in Geet/Ghazal competition, Arshdeep Singh stood first in classical instrumental solo and Ravnoor stood first in Western vocal song (solo)
Ravnoorpreet Kaur stood first in folk song and Rajinder Singh stood second.
Punjabi Folk Dances Gidha and Bhangra and a special item traditional art ‘Bhand” was also enacted. In Mimicry Yashpal stood as winner.
Prof. Ved Parkash Sharma, Dr. Gurdeep Singh and Dr. Rupinder Sharma were judges for Poetry Recitation, Dr. Bhanavi Wadhawan, Dr. Harleen Kaur and Dr. Gaganpreet Kaur were judges for elocution. For western solo song the judges were Prof. (Ms.) Jagdeep Kaur, Dr. Harmohan Sharma and Prof. Mohamad Habib. The judges for folk song / Geet ghazal were Dr. Harmohan Sharma, Dr. Mohamad Habib, Dr. Manpreet Kaur (Physics Dept.).
Dr. Harmohan Sharma, Prof. Mohamad Habib and Dr. Manpreet Kaur were the judges for the Music Items. Prof. (Mrs.) Jagdeep Kaur, Dr. Harmohan Sharma and Prof. Mohamad Habib were judges for Western Solo Song.
At the end of the programme, the Chief Guest distributed the prizes to the winners. Dr. Bhanvi Wadhawan, Dr. Ganesh Sethi, Dr. Rupinder Sharma, Dr. Gagandeep Kaur and Dr. Rupinder Singh conducted the stage.
Dr. Ashwani Sharma, College Registrar appreciated the winners and Vice Principal Prof. Shailendra Sidhu presented the vote of thanks.
